The tenor of the Adler-Lacke trade fair team at this year's Holz-Handwerk trade fair was unanimous: The trade show appearance was a complete success. A top topic was the changeover to waterborne coatings.

Waterborne coatings were the central surface topic at the Holz-Handwerk trade fair. "Many carpenters and joiners, and increasingly also smaller businesses, are specifically thinking about switching to water-based coatings," explains Andreas Fischbacher, Adler sales manager for southern Germany. Peter Stecher, Adler division manager for the woodworking industry, knows the reasons: "The environmentally friendly coating technology is clearly in line with the spirit of the times and offers processors the opportunity to position themselves in the market. In addition, waterborne coatings now guarantee the same high standard as solventborne products, for example in terms of ease of application and drying times. And last but not least, against the background of rising oil prices, waterborne coatings have also become very attractive in terms of cost."

So it was just right that Adler had the ideal product with it in the form of the new water-based all-rounder Bluefin Unistar, with which the changeover to waterborne coatings can be made safely: According to the manufacturer, the furniture coating is easy and safe to use, dries quickly and can be sanded after just one hour. Bluefin Unistar can be used on any common type of wood without causing discoloration and is suitable for both 1K and 2K processing - with a pot life of up to three days for the latter.
