Aquafix UV 100 from Adler protects furniture from discoloration

What actually happens during yellowing? Wolfgang Danzl, who developed the new yellowing protection in the Adler laboratory, explains: "Lignin, one of the main components of wood, is very sensitive to light. High-energy UV radiation in particular triggers a chemical reaction on the surface of the wood. As a result, the lignin breaks down and discolors in the process." This is precisely where Aquafix UV 100 from Adler comes in: A unique and innovative combination of active ingredients absorbs the UV radiation and thus delays the chemical reaction. The natural color tone of the wood is preserved, and even enhanced. Because while most light protection agents lighten the wood color over time, Aquafix UV 100 has the opposite effect: the light protection fires up the wood and thus emphasizes its individual character. "Adler Aquafix UV 100 thus brings double benefits," explains Wolfgang Danzl: "The light protection agent intensifies the color tone of any wood and ensures that this color is retained even in intense sunlight."

The application is thereby conceivably uncomplicated: Aquafix UV 100 is suitable for all water-based 1K and 2K clear coatings from Adler-Lacke's Bluefin furniture coating range, such as the new universal coating Bluefin Unistar or the particularly natural Bluefin Softmatt. The light protection component is stirred into the coating and can be applied immediately. The application quantity and drying behavior of the coating remain unchanged - but the effect is impressive: Adler Aquafix UV 100 creates a kindling similar to that of a solvent-based varnish and guarantees highly effective protection against yellowing - so that the wood still looks fresh and natural even after many hours in the sun.
