Evonik offers sustainable dispersing additive Tego Dispers 658
Evonik is launching Tego Dispers 658, a sustainable dispersing additive. The product is readily biodegradable with a similarly high performance profile as comparable Evonik products, enabling manufacturers of pigment preparations and colored coatings to make their production more sustainable.
Dispersing additives are important raw materials for the production of pigmented coatings and pigment concentrates as intermediates for colored coatings. For example, they provide the necessary viscosity reduction to achieve high pigment contents. Dispersing additives stabilize the particles in the long term after the dispersing process and thus maintain a high colour intensity. Thanks to the problem-free compatibility when combining different pigment concentrates and the fact that they can be used in a wide variety of basecoats, they enable a wide range of colors to be produced efficiently. "The dispersing additives from the Tego Dispers 65x family are extremely popular with our customers. When used in universal pastes, they are characterized by high reliability of pigment stabilization and maximum flexibility in use: Everything is possible, from use in aqueous wall paint to formulating a high-solids door coating. With Tego Dispers 658, we now offer a product that minimizes the potential impact on aquatic organisms while maintaining the same performance," says Frank Kleinsteinberg, Head of Application Technology Pigment Concentrates. This enables Evonik customers to develop new product families that are already geared to future standards.
