Highly crosslinkable additive for radiation-curing printing inks and coatings from Evonik

With Tego Rad 2330, Evonik Coating Additives is expanding its portfolio of tailor-made silicone acrylates with a new radically crosslinkable additive for radiation-curing printing inks and coatings.
Evonik's Tego Rad 2330 additive has several reactive groups per molecule, which ensure good crosslinking and thus low migration. It consistently shows a strong reduction in surface tension, anti-cratering effect and good slip and release behavior, as well as very low foaming. This makes the additive suitable for a wide range of applications. The additive is recommended for use in printing varnishes, printing inks and clear and pigmented wood coatings. "Customers in the printing ink industry demand additives for UV-curing printing inks with high wetting, slip, and anti-cratering and release properties while minimizing migration," says Susanne Struck, Head of Market Segment Inks, EMEA & Global Projects. "Tego Rad 2330 is an excellent product that meets exactly these requirements."
Evonik's Tego Rad portfolio of silicone acrylates offers manufacturers of printing inks and coatings a comprehensive range of additive solutions to ensure premium quality in paints and coatings. These additives for radiation-curing UV and LED inks and coatings improve wetting and flow properties, prevent cratering, and enable manufacturers to produce products with the desired level of slip and flow. Evonik's Coating Additives Business Line has a comprehensive portfolio for radiation-curing inks and a wide range of products to improve high-performance formulations in the automotive, architectural, decorative, marine and other industries.
