Saint-Gobain Abrasives training seminars 2025

The training courses offered by Saint-Gobain Abrasives at the Grinding Technology Center Europe (EGTC) for 2025 can now be booked. The seminars will cover a wide range of grinding solutions in theory and practice.
Saint-Gobain Abrasives' Grinding Technology Centre Europe (EGTC) in Norderstedt near Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, plays a key role in the innovation of grinding processes. In addition, the EGTC offers a high-quality and recently updated range of seminars to convey the wide range of grinding solutions in theory and practice. The seminars are held in both German and English and are aimed at interested users of grinding technology, machine operators, foremen and supervisors, process engineers and employees from work preparation, production, quality assurance, service and sales. The focus of the EGTC is on the investigation and optimization of innovative grinding solutions for all types of abrasives to support the customers of Saint-Gobain Abrasives GmbH. With its seminars and workshops, the research and development center also ensures a practice-oriented transfer of knowledge on all aspects of abrasive technology.
From 2025, the EGTC will be offering the completely updated and modernized seminar "Focus on Grinding - Theory and Practice". In the seminar, the topics of grinding and dressing tools, machining parameters, cooling lubrication conditions, economic and sustainability considerations and approaches to optimizing grinding processes will be considered holistically. The training program also includes the seminar "Grinding of shank tools", which covers the various grinding processes for the production of drills and milling cutters - including flute grinding and the machining of cutting geometries. A prerequisite for high-quality end products is a good knowledge of the selection, preparation and use of grinding tools and the determination of optimum grinding parameters. "In the seminars, we first teach the theoretical aspects, which are then deepened on the grinding machines in the EGTC test field with various tasks," explains Lutz Gaida, Head of the EGTC. "Internal seminars for Saint-Gobain Abrasives' application technology and field service teams are also held here on a regular basis. With its pioneering machinery and modern training technology, the EGTC is ideal for building up skills or keeping up to date with the latest technology as a professional."
