mtv Messtechnik oHG is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Founded in 1994 by Johannes R. Vogel, the company started out as a pure sales partner and authorized specialist dealer of the US manufacturer DeFelsko.

DeFelsk's measuring and testing equipment for paint production and processing as well as for corrosion protection inspection already enjoyed a worldwide reputation in the 1990s. In the meantime, mtv Messtechnik has also made a name for itself as a manufacturer of its own devices and systems, for example for the quality control of coated surfaces. The product lines developed by mtv complement and expand the existing DeFelsko range. mtv's declared goal for the next decade is to offer customers the widest and most diverse range of high-quality measuring and testing systems for industrial painting technology and other sectors from a single source.

"The impetus for founding mtv came from my uncle Frank Koch," recalls Managing Director Johannes R. Vogel. The inspection equipment pioneer and founder of DeFelsko, who died in 2011 at the age of 77, suggested that his nephew take over the distribution of the renowned US measurement technology manufacturer in Germany. Vogel gladly accepted the offer. What began in 1994 in the backyard of a factory in Cologne quickly developed into a real "success story" with customers such as BASF, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen. "Right from the start, we were able to score points on the market with technical innovations and economic persuasiveness. Constantly keeping an eye on market requirements is absolutely vital for a company of our size in order to stay on course for growth," Vogel reveals his recipe for success. In 2007, this also included developing and manufacturing its own products. With the move ten years later to a modern building in Erftstadt, the current company headquarters, which was adapted to the requirements of the medium-sized company, there was sufficient space to further expand and advance the engineering for the company's own device series. These include scoring testers, dry time recorders and cross cutters with the mtv logo.
