DeFelsko acquired its former cooperation partner Testex, Newark/Delaware, in December. Testex manufactures consumables for DeFelsko's surface profile determination and roughness measurement equipment.

Testex is the manufacturer of the Press-O-Film replication tape, a consumable used in conjunction with the PosiTector RTR probe module developed by DeFelsko to determine surface profile and measure roughness. For DeFelsko, the acquisition serves to ensure the long-term availability of the Press-O-Film set and other Testex products worldwide. At the same time, the long-established U.S. measuring instrument specialist is thus rounding out its own portfolio in the field of surface inspection.

Following the acquisition, Testex will continue to operate as an independent brand under the direction of DeFelsko. However, orders for Testex products will be processed and shipped from DeFelsko's headquarters in Ogdensburg, New York. To that end, DeFelsko emphasizes that it will minimize the impact to customers and distributors as much as possible during the transition period. In addition, DeFelsko will maintain all existing relationships with Testex suppliers. The previous pricing structure and discount conditions will also be maintained for a transitional period - probably until mid-2023. German customers will not notice anything about the changeover; because in practice, hardly anything will change. As before, they can purchase both Testex and DeFelsko products from the German DeFelsko distributor MTV Messtechnik. There, they can obtain everything they need for surface inspection from a single source, and even the classic Press-O-Film roll with 50 measuring points is still available from MTV Messtechnik. DeFelsko as well as Testex will present themselves at the European Coatings Show 2023 in Nuremberg (28.3. to 30.03.2023, Hall 4, Booth 563).
