DeFelsko presents revised modular inspection kits at PaintExpo 2024

DeFelsko is presenting the technically upgraded PosiTector series at PaintExpo 2024. The basic unit of the inspection kits marketed under this product name makes the user's work easier with a shock-resistant 2.8-inch color touchscreen, a redesigned keypad and intuitive, lightning-fast menu navigation.
The modular concept stringently implemented by the U.S. measurement technology manufacturer DeFelsko means that each PosiTector basic device can accommodate a wide range of different measuring probes. The range includes modules for measuring coating thickness, determining the surface profile, testing for soluble salts, measuring wall thickness and calculating the dew point. In total, the PosiTektor portfolio includes all probes and test programs relevant to industrial painting technology. Users can thus configure an individual inspection kit tailored precisely to their needs. If required, this can be easily extended by purchasing additional modules in order to successively equip themselves for future measuring tasks. Each PosiTector inspection kit includes the basic device as the main component. As part of the further development of the successful model series, DeFelsko has focused not only on improving the ergonomics but also on integrating the latest technology into the basic units. Thanks to these measures, the PosiTector series has fully arrived in the Industry 4.0 era and is perfectly equipped for the digital processing of measured data. DeFelsko provides the right tools for clear processing and in-depth analysis in the form of a software solution developed specifically for the PosiTector series. Users also have the option of using their preferred third-party software.
In addition to the USB connection, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi ensure adequate connectivity. In this way, the PosiTector basic devices can be connected to a smartphone, tablet PC or portable printer: In addition, the user can connect a Bluetooth barcode scanner or a Bluetooth keyboard to immediately annotate measured values and batches. The inclusion of relevant communication protocols even allows collaboration with robots, drones or remote-controlled vehicle systems. To keep each base unit up to date, it can be updated via free software updates from the manufacturer's website. The user can also add new functions in the same way. The increase in performance realized by DeFelsko is reflected in the storage of 250,000 measured values in up to 1,000 batches and sub-batches. Despite the larger memory and additional functions, the manufacturer has been able to extend the battery life of all device variants in the PosiTector series. Compared to the previous generation, it has increased by 30 percent.
