Paintexpo: Improved mobile coating thickness measurement from OptiSense

At PaintExpo 2022, OptiSense, a provider of photothermal measuring systems for coating thicknesses, will be showcasing a whole host of new innovations. These include mobile handheld devices such as the PaintChecker Mobile with optimized handling and extended functions.
OptiSense will be exhibiting the improved PaintChecker Mobile handheld device at its stand at Paintexpo (Hall 3, Stand 3250). Like all of the supplier's systems, it can check paints or powders even before they have hardened, when the application is still wet or soft. Simple measurement directly after application means that very cost-intensive reworking or expensive overcoating can be completely avoided. The non-contact process therefore immediately offers optimum quality control and significantly higher process reliability. With their sophisticated design and tiny measuring spot, the slim laser sensors are particularly suitable for coating thickness checks in places that were previously difficult to access or on delicate small parts, corners and edges.
The handling of the system has been optimized by an accelerated, sub-second measurement, a selection of light and small sensors for different applications, the intelligent division of sensor and evaluation electronics, the light, compact sensor, which makes the use extremely flexible, as well as the curved, ergonomic and light shape, with which the Paint-Checker adapts perfectly to any hand position. In addition, there is now a release button on the sensor head itself. OptiSense has also developed innovative measuring applications. The PaintChecker Mobile measures the coating across all colors - from deep black to pure white - and on substrates such as metal, glass, rubber or plastic.
