New Dürr EcoAUC2 control unit for efficient painting processes

With the EcoAUC2, Dürr is launching an advanced control unit for painting processes onto the market. More available colors, additional functions and the integrated control of cleaning devices expand the application possibilities in automated systems.
In many production environments, control units must be precisely matched to the dosing technology and applicator in order to ensure reliable operation. With the EcoAUC2, the Dürr Group is expanding the functions of its application control system and at the same time simplifying integration into modern system concepts. The control of technical components has been expanded, including an integrated rapid unloader, which improves the cycle time and increases safety when handling high voltage. An air heater can be controlled as an option, which supports consistent application quality, particularly in hot and humid production environments. Additional interfaces such as Profinet, EtherNet/IP or DeviceNet enable data exchange with higher-level systems and facilitate integration into existing production networks.
Dürr control unit for fast integration and maximum flexibility
For the first time, the control unit also takes over the complete control of the cleaning devices for various atomizers. This reduces the integration effort, especially when safely switching off the high voltage before entering the cleaning station of a high-rotation atomizer such as the EcoBell2. The EcoAUC2 automatically detects whether the applicator is de-energized and only then releases the cleaning cycle. At the same time, the capacity for material variants has been increased: Up to 20 colors and five hardener components can be controlled. The components are compactly combined in a control cabinet, including process controller, compressed air control, visualization and interfaces to the robot controller and safety PLC. An enlarged display supports process monitoring and operation. The new control system will be presented for the first time at PaintExpo in Karlsruhe (Hall 3, Stand 3320).
