Axalta: Clear coat and filler products with Fast-Cure-Low-Energy-Technology
Axalta introduces the next generation of clearcoat and filler products with patented Fast Cure Low Energy (FCLE) system. Body and paint stores can use FCLE technology to increase productivity and reduce energy consumption during the drying process.
Axalta's new clearcoat with FCLE technology is more user-friendly as it does not require activation of the basecoat, making application quicker and easier. It has a scratch and chemical resistant finish with increased robustness to meet vehicle manufacturer specifications. This opens up an even wider range of applications for the FCLE system in body shops, including repairs under the manufacturer's warranty. The mixing ratio and application of the new clearcoat correspond exactly to the previous FCLE system clearcoat, but do not require a flexible additive for plastic parts.
Improving the CO2 balance of paint shops
The next-generation clearcoat offers a short drying process at low temperatures and the option of air drying. In this way, it can further improve the CO2 footprint of paint shops and at the same time contribute to higher throughput. The next-generation filler not only impresses with the same high productivity and excellent performance as previous FCLE fillers. It also reduces complexity in the bodyshop - by combining the sanding filler and wet-on-wet filler in one product. Refinishers no longer have to choose between a sanding or wet-on-wet product. Another advantage: body and paint stores can work with lower stock levels, which simplifies both the ordering and application process.
Axalta vehicle paint repair system can reduce energy consumption
Axalta offers the FCLE system in three of its leading premium refinish brands: Cromax - Ultra Performance Energy System, Spies Hecker - under the Speed-TEC product family, and Standox - Xtreme System. Bart De Groof, Senior Director Marketing, Global Refinish at Axalta, emphasizes: "We are very pleased that our Fast-Cure Low Energy Refinish System is now even better. It is already appreciated as a fast and productive coating solution; now it offers greater robustness while continuing to promote sustainability. The improved FCLE system offers all the benefits refinishers expect - and more. These include energy savings of up to 50 percent on gas and up to 48 percent on electricity, achieved by drying at low temperatures and air drying respectively."
