SurTec at Aluminium 2024: Surface treatment of aluminum

SurTec is presenting its entire portfolio for the surface treatment of aluminum at the Aluminium trade fair 2024 in Düsseldorf. This includes RainTec, an atomization technology for the chrome-free pre-treatment of aluminium before painting, and the anodizing portfolio.
"Following the completion of the mergers of a large number of leading anodizing companies in recent years, SurTec has become one of the world's leading suppliers in the anodizing industry," explains Dr. Torsten Koerner, Director Global Products Metal Pre-Treatment and Industrial Parts Cleaning at SurTec International GmbH. "The aluminum trade fair continues to be an important forum for presenting innovative approaches and showing industry examples of added value." SurTec offers the complete portfolio of the anodizing process, including degreasing, etching, brightening, deoxidizing, anodizing additives, dye coloring, electrocoloring and various types of cold, medium temperature, hot and functional sealing.
A special focus at SurTec's stand 3G52 at the trade fair will be an additive for the anodizing bath that enables energy savings of up to 20%. The additive has undergone the Qualanod qualification process and preliminary approval is expected in the coming weeks. Another topic is a Qualanod-approved additive for medium-temperature sealing, which enables operation at temperatures below 90 degrees Celsius. The portfolio also includes sealing additives for fixing organic dyes or for alkali resistance in accordance with OEM requirements. In the area of pre-treatment prior to painting, SurTec is presenting RainTec, an innovative atomization technology for Qualicoat-approved non-chrome pre-treatment processes prior to powder coating. This unique process is characterized by the complete absence of impurities in the operating bath, as the process is constantly supplied with fresh solution. In addition, the process has an excellent environmental footprint as the consumption of water and chemicals is significantly reduced compared to conventional technologies.
