Freudenberg bundles bonded coatings business at SurTec
Freudenberg Chemical Specialities GmbH (FCS) intends to bundle its business for the development, production and distribution of bonded coatings under the management of the SurTec International GmbH business unit. Until now, the FCS divisions Klüber Lubrication, OKS and SurTec have operated largely independently of each other in the market for bonded coatings.
Following the acquisition of OmniTechnik Mikroverkapselungs GmbH, Munich, a specialist in pre-applied closure and sealing coatings known under the Precote brand, SurTec is taking a further step towards complete surface system solutions. The aim is to become the most comprehensive expert for functional coatings on the market. SurTec and formerly OmniTechnik are known for their excellent support of customers worldwide - especially coating partners - and for pioneering achievements in product and application technologies. "The combination of excellent quality products, global sales and distribution networks, world-class customer service and uncompromising commitment to developing sustainable innovations is tailored to provide outstanding integrated capabilities in bonded coatings for elastomers, metals, microencapsulation, electroplating and others," says Filip Krulis, CEO FCS.
The companies aim for a seamless transition of the business in the best interest of customers. The handover of the business will take place in January 2024. The transition will be accompanied as closely as possible and additional information will be provided in several stages. The primary goal is to ensure a smooth transition of the business. Dedicated project teams in the respective FCS units have started preparing the integration and implementation. Technology, supply chain and other business processes will be further optimized and consolidated within the SurTec Group.
