SurTec International GmbH, Bensheim, Germany, has acquired Omnitechnik Mikroverkapselungs GmbH, Munich, Germany. The acquisition of the screw locking specialist is a meaningful addition to SurTec's portfolio.

Part of the acquisition agreement is also the purchase of all shares in the joint venture Precote USA L.L.C., Romeo, MI, USA, by the SurTec subsidiary SurTec Inc., Brunswick, Ohio, USA. SurTec is a division of Freudenberg Chemical Specialities GmbH, Munich. The acquisition agreement creates the conditions for integrating both companies into the SurTec Group in the long term. As an innovative family-owned company, Omnitechnik Mikroverkapselungs GmbH has developed into a market leader in the field of reactive and non-reactive coatings for fasteners since its foundation more than 40 years ago. The company's success in the global market is based on extensive knowledge and experience, first-class application technology consulting and excellent products, as well as close cooperation with sales and consulting partners over many years. With its Precote product range, the company serves a wide variety of thread coating applications worldwide, for example in the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, the aerospace industry, household appliances and other industries. The acquisition of Omnitechnik and Precote creates the conditions for further strategic development of both companies. "Part of the FCS business strategy is the continuous expansion of our business portfolio, including an active acquisition strategy. Attractive and promising services, technologies and products with outstanding market positions are our focus," says Filip Krulis, CEO FCS.

"In our acquisitions, we focus on companies that help us strengthen our market position in highly specialized segments. With Omnitechnik, we will significantly expand and strategically develop our existing business for chemical surface technology," adds Dr. Jörg Matthias Großmann, CFO FCS. "We always wanted to be among the top suppliers in the market for screw locking technologies, and we have succeeded in doing so for more than 40 years," says Heinrich Kuhn-Weiss, owner of Omnitechnik Mikroverkapselungs GmbH. "Exploiting the market potential for innovative coating technologies even better will be even easier for us as part of SurTec For me, as a representative of the owner family, it was important to choose a partner who sees itself as a long-term, strategic investor," he adds. "With FCS Group and SurTec, the company is in good hands," explains Dr. Karsten Grünke, CEO SurTec International. "FCS has already once acquired OKS Spezialschmierstoffe GmbH, a company owned by the Kuhn-Weiss family, and successfully developed it further. We assume that we will be just as successful with Omnitechnik," Grünke affirms.
