Axalta installs first autonomous automotive refinish mixing machines
Axalta Refinish has installed and officially handed over its first two Axalta Irus Mix in Germany. Axalta Irus Mix is the fastest fully automatic and completely autonomous mixing machine for the automotive refinish industry.
The Axalta Irus Mix mixing machine for the automotive refinish industry offers the highest color accuracy and is designed for Axalta's innovative bottle system. It is therefore not necessary to fill or decant the products into special bottles. The bottles are equipped with precise metering lids, so there is no material waste during application. The bottle system is made from 50 percent recycled plastic, underscoring the company's commitment to greater sustainability. Compared to a manual dispensing process, a reduction in labor time of over 60 percent can be achieved. The installation at Poppe Malereibetrieb und Fahrzeuglackierung GmbH in Bremervörde was celebrated on August 17, 2023. Poppe GmbH is an ultra-modern operation into which Axalta Irus Mix fits perfectly as a step into the future. Standox lead wholesaler Wulff played a decisive role in the planning, installation and support of the Axalta Irus Mix machine as well as in the preparation of the celebration in the paint shop with the ceremonial handover of the Axalta Irus Mix certificate. For the occasion, the employees met with the management of the paint shop, Matthias Artmeier, Sales Manager of Wulff GmbH und Co. KG, and members of the Axalta Refinish management team, including Stephan Ortmann, Indirect Business Manager at Axalta Coating Systems Germany. Stephan Ortmann explains, "Axalta Irus Mix is a breakthrough technology that took three years to develop. We are very pleased that Poppe Malereibetrieb und Fahrzeug GmbH is one of the first body and paint stores in the world to use it."
The installation at Auto Beyer, Part of HoB-Repair Group GmbH, was celebrated on August 22, 2023, at the body and paint store in Rodgau. The occasion brought together employees with owner Reinhard Beyer and members of the Axalta Refinish management team. Bart De Groof, EMEA Marketing and Strategy Director, and Frank Forst Sales Manager Axalta Refinish Germany, presented the certificate to Managing Director Reinhard Beyer.
