Qualification as a process mechanic for coating technology

The aim of a new qualification programme is to train employees to become process mechanics for coating technology. The modular in-service training concept for coaters and painters is entering its final round.

In the context of the ever-increasing shortage of skilled workers in the coating industry, a final opportunity is now on the horizon: the qualification measure for process mechanics for coating technology, which was developed in collaboration between Avaport Dienstleistungsgesellschaft mbH as the training provider and Markus Vüllers as the specialist lecturer on the basis of the Qualification Opportunities Act, is entering its final round. This tailor-made training measure offers a unique opportunity to provide proven and established employees in painting and coating companies with targeted further training and pave the way for them to obtain a Chamber of Industry and Commerce qualification - with financial support from the Employment Agency as part of the Qualification Opportunities Act.

The urgent need for qualified coating specialists

The requirements in the coating industry are constantly growing. Modern coating processes, higher quality standards and the increasing importance of environmental and health protection are constantly presenting companies with new challenges. Highly qualified specialists are essential to meet these challenges. But these are in short supply. Demographic change and increasing competition for qualified employees are further exacerbating the situation.

The answer to this problem lies in the targeted further training of existing employees. Proven employees in the company have valuable practical experience and operational knowledge. Through targeted training, these employees can acquire the necessary specialist knowledge to meet the increasing demands and strengthen the company in the long term.

The new training concept: flexible, practical and individual

Based on previous experience and feedback, the original concept of a 14-month intensive training course was revised. From spring 2025, the qualification measure will start in a more flexible form of modular training in six partial qualifications.

This in-company partial qualification will allow participants to expand their knowledge and skills step by step in a practical environment without having to be absent from the workplace for long periods of time. This modular qualification offers companies the advantage of being able to optimally integrate the further training phases into their operational processes. Employees can put what they have learned directly into practice and thus continuously contribute to the further development of the company. In addition, the modules are designed to take individual learning needs into account and thus specifically build up knowledge that is required in the respective company.

Take advantage of funding opportunities from the employment agency

The financial support provided by the Employment Agency is particularly attractive. The Qualification Opportunities Act makes it possible for further training costs to be covered in full by the employment agency. This minimizes the costs of training for the company, while at the same time increasing the professional competence of employees in the long term.

This is a unique opportunity that companies should take advantage of in order to secure their competitiveness and at the same time open up new prospects for their employees. Especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers, targeted further training is an investment in the future of the company.

Last call for qualification as a process mechanic for coating technology

The registration deadline for the qualification measure has expired and this is the last call to take advantage of this opportunity. The implementation of the measure depends on a sufficient number of participants. All painting and coating companies should therefore take advantage of this opportunity and motivate their employees to participate.

Registration should be completed by November 2024 at the latest in order to guarantee the start in spring 2025. Companies can take their skilled workers to the next level - for a strong and sustainable coating industry. (OM-9/24)
