Coating expert Matthias Bader celebrates his 60th birthday

Matthias Bader, founder of the Pulverakademie and Bader Pulverbeschichtung, celebrated his 60th birthday on June 14, 2024. The entrepreneur and industry expert can look back on a successful career in the surface coating industry.

Matthias Bader was born in Aalen on June 14, 1964 as the fifth child. After training as an industrial clerk, he began his career at the Buck company in Munich. He held various positions there and gained extensive experience in all areas. In 1986, he founded his own company, Bader Pulverbeschichtung GmbH. Under his leadership, the company quickly developed into a leading supplier of powder coatings in the region. Bader always focused on innovative approaches and invested heavily in research and development. This led to several innovation awards and patents. Bader was a true technology leader in his industry. His entrepreneurial spirit and tireless commitment made Bader Pulverbeschichtung GmbH a model company. In 2023, Matthias Bader handed over his company to the EBG Group as part of a succession plan.

Industry commitment and passion for training and further education

In addition to his entrepreneurial activities, Matthias Bader also shows great commitment to the industry. Since 2001, he has been passionately committed to the vocational training of process mechanics for coating technology. He took over the chairmanship of the technical commission of the QIB e.V. back in 2009 and has been sharing his extensive expertise as a trainer at the Powder Academy since 2016. In these roles, he makes a significant contribution to the further development of the industry. In 2018, Matthias Bader launched the "Azubi Award". The "Everyone Needs Powder Award" honours the best graduates of a year and recognizes their outstanding achievements. This award not only serves as recognition of their successful training, but should also serve as motivation for their future career in the powder coating industry. Matthias Bader is a valued partner and colleague, known for his professional expertise, entrepreneurial skills and social commitment.

Foundation of the Powder Academy

The Powder Academy was founded by Matthias Bader in 2016. This independent educational institution offers training and further education in the field of powder coating. The academy is aimed at both beginners and advanced students. The workshops, which take place directly in the company's coating plant, are a particular highlight. Here, participants can experience the coating process up close, identify optimizations and implement them directly.

Private commitment and personal milestones

Matthias Bader is married and has two grown-up children. In his private life, he has been a member of the Round Table Club, an international service club, for 30 years and has held various offices there. He has also been involved in the town twinning association and is currently active in the self-help group for arm and leg amputees. Matthias Bader lost his left hand in an accident at the age of 17. To help others affected, the self-help group offers support and a point of contact for those who have suffered similar losses. Matthias Bader is the contact person for hand and arm amputations and is responsible for the group's public relations work.

Matthias Bader draws strength from his journey to Santiago de Compostela in spring 2024, where he completed the Camino de Santiago and covered the missing 1,600 kilometers by bike. With this commitment and his diverse activities, Matthias Bader will have plenty to do in the years to come and, even at the age of 60, will not be "superficial" or lazy. (OM-6/24)
