New grinder range from Fein with extended service life
Fein is launching the new CG 15 BL compact angle grinder on the market from April 2023. It is the first in its class with a brushless Fein PowerDrive motor and completely enclosed motor. In addition, the service life of the angle grinder is increased by dust-protected, separately installed motor electronics.
The CG 15 BL compact angle grinder from Fein requires fewer wearing parts, fewer service intervals and lower maintenance costs. The extremely efficient 1,500-watt motor has a 200-watt lower rated input and still has a higher efficiency than a 1,700-watt universal motor. Above all, this saves additional energy costs. Thanks to the new innovative Fein motor concept, the power tool manufacturer achieves an increase in service life of more than 60 percent. In addition, the integrated overload protection warns when working in the overload range by means of a flashing LED, which protects the machine and leads to fewer breakdowns. The concept is rounded off by optimized cooling air routing and temperature monitoring. User safety is also an important issue, which is why the new angle grinder is equipped with extensive user protection. Thanks to an effective brake (less than 2 seconds), soft start, restart protection, kickback control and jam monitoring, work safety is significantly increased. Fein also offers all variants with a quick stop function (dead man's switch) and fall protection. In addition, the machine has the best weight-to-performance ratio at 2.2 kilograms and 1,050 watts of output power. That's significantly higher efficiency compared to angle grinders with 1,700 watts of rated input power.
From April 2023, Fein cordless angle grinders will also be available with the new AMPShare battery technology, offering the same performance as comparable corded angle grinders without the need for cables. Thanks to the AMPShare rechargeable battery, the CCG 18 unleashes its full performance potential. For precise results and long runtimes, users can flexibly adjust the speed for many abrasives and materials to be processed. Fein is also setting new standards in terms of work safety with its Protago cordless angle grinder. The unique operating concept and new safety features virtually eliminate risks from incorrect operation. The machine can only be started when one of the user's hands is on the machine and the other on the auxiliary handle. The additional handle of the Protago is permanently installed on the machine and cannot be removed. This makes one-handed operation impossible. The auxiliary handle can be locked in six positions, ensuring ease of use and flexibility. In addition, the protective hood is permanently mounted and cannot be removed, which permanently protects users from flying fragments. The Protago is also equipped with a soft start, which ensures a smooth and safe start-up of the machine. When the machine is switched off, the rotating disc is slowed down in seconds by the quick stop function. The required maximum power is provided by the brushless and fully encapsulated Fein PowerDrive motor. Therefore, it can be operated maintenance-free even during continuous use in more dust-intensive environments.
