Mirka Polaros RP 600 Polisher Wins Red Dot Award

The Mirka Polaros RP 600 corded polisher won the Product Design Award at the 2026 International Red Dot Award.
Less than a year after its market launch, Mirka’s corded polisher has redefined expectations for modern polishing machines with its innovative design and advanced features, winning over both users and the Red Dot Award jury. The Polaro’s unique design features include a flat housing without protruding side or handlebar grips, connectivity with the myMirka app, and patent-pending speed control functions. These features significantly improve user-friendliness and make it easier than ever to achieve excellent surface results. The low profile allows for working closer to the surface, which increases stability and reduces vibrations. The Ramp Up and Ramp Down functions also ensure that splatter and surface damage are avoided by precisely controlling the speed at startup and during the polishing process.
Mirka polisher with modular construction and gearless design
Simon Bäck, Senior Development Engineer at Mirka, highlights another key factor in the Polaros’ success: “The Polaros’ greatest achievement—and something we’re particularly proud of—is its gearless design. It took a lot of time to perfect this technology, but the result speaks for itself: more efficient use of power that acts directly on the surface, as well as significantly quieter operation.” Another important aspect of the design that isn’t immediately apparent in daily use is the polisher’s modular construction. This modularity—combined with local production and parts sourcing in Finland—facilitates maintenance and repairs while also extending the product’s lifespan. “Winning a Red Dot Award is always a special honor. At Mirka, we see this as confirmation that we are on the right track. We are very grateful for the recognition of our work. At the same time, we would like to thank our users—the experts in surface finishing. Their feedback continually drives us to further improve ergonomics, efficiency, and quality. Without them, this success would not be possible.”
