With Bonderite C-AD 20202, Henkel is launching a new low-temperature surfactant for industrial immersion degreasing that cleans reliably at around 35 to 40 degrees Celsius. Compared to conventional processes, the process temperature can be reduced by up to 35 degrees.

The newly developed low-temperature surfactant Bonderite C-AD 20202 closes a gap in the Henkel portfolio: Efficient low-temperature products have been available for spray degreasing for some time, but not for the dipping process until now. This is indispensable when complex geometries, concealed cavities or surfaces that are difficult to access need to be cleaned. As there is less mechanical support here, high-performance chemistry is crucial to ensure consistently high quality even at reduced temperatures. Bonderite C-AD 20202 can be integrated into existing systems without investment by replacing the previous immersion surfactant. Tests such as the water break test prove complete surface wetting and thus optimum conditions for subsequent conversion treatment such as phosphating or nano-coating.

Low-temperature immersion surfactant significantly reduces energy requirements

The new low-temperature immersion surfactant achieves stable results even under demanding conditions, such as with water-immiscible thermoforming agents or components with complex structures. In addition to the technical performance, it offers clear economic advantages: The lowered bath temperature significantly reduces energy requirements and has an immediate impact on operating costs. If a warm syringe degreasing system is installed upstream, there is no need to heat the immersion degreasing system at all. The chemical consumption is approximately the same as the surfactant previously used, so that procurement and storage remain unchanged. There are no investment costs, as the savings take effect from the first day of use. Initial practical applications confirm the wide range of uses, from the automotive industry to agricultural and construction machinery manufacturers and metalworking companies. Before implementation, Henkel recommends checking the oil and grease characteristics of the respective process to ensure optimum performance. "With Bonderite C-AD 20202, we combine the highest cleaning quality with measurable savings in energy consumption and CO₂ emissions. For our customers, this is an immediately effective measure to save costs and resources, without additional investment or technical adjustments," explains Andy Bender, Technical Service in Field Service at Henkel.
