Henkel acquires ATP Adhesive Systems, a leading supplier of high-performance, water-based specialty tapes. Henkel's Adhesive Technologies business unit is thus expanding its adhesives portfolio beyond liquid technologies.

Henkel has signed an agreement to acquire Switzerland-based ATP Adhesive Systems from Arsenal Capital Partners. ATP Adhesive Systems is a leading provider of high-performance, water-based specialty tapes for a variety of end markets, including automotive, electronics, medical, construction and graphic arts. With a presence in Europe and North America, the company employs around 700 people and generated sales of around EUR 270 million (expected) for the 2025 financial year.

Product portfolio expansion with water-based adhesive tapes

"Expanding our portfolio through attractive, value-enhancing acquisitions is an integral part of our growth agenda. This acquisition will further accelerate growth in our Adhesive Technologies business unit by expanding our offering and expertise in adhesive tapes with a broad range of innovative adhesive solutions. The complementary portfolio of ATP Adhesive Systems is an excellent strategic fit and is also in line with our sustainability goals, as more than 90 percent of the products use water-based technologies that have a low carbon footprint," said Carsten Knobel, CEO of Henkel. "With this acquisition, we are strengthening our Adhesive Technologies business unit. ATP Adhesive Systems offers a compelling portfolio of water-based specialty tapes, whose increasing application possibilities - as a more sustainable, low-VOC* alternative - enable above-average growth compared to conventional adhesive tapes. In addition, the company has state-of-the-art production facilities and technological expertise that form a strong basis for further optimizing our portfolio. This creates the foundation for a platform that goes beyond liquid technologies and accelerates innovation in sustainability," said Mark Dorn, member of the Henkel Management Board responsible for the Adhesive Technologies business sector.
