The tool specialist and system supplier Hahn + Kolb achieved an increase in turnover last year despite the changeable economic situation. New products and a broad range of customers from the metal, electronics, energy and automotive industries ensure success. Solutions for automation and digitalization as well as sustainable services are in demand.

Hahn + Kolb expanded its product range again last year with 2,000 new products from its own brands Atorn and Orion, as well as cooperations with strong brands such as Liqui Moly and Edding. As a result, new customers and industries were acquired and Group sales increased by 8.9% compared to the previous year. In Germany, growth amounted to 10.5 percent. "We have thus bucked the trend and successfully held our own despite the geopolitical and economic crises," says Steffen Vogl, Managing Director of Hahn + Kolb. Hahn + Kolb's total product range comprises 120,000 items. This product diversity, combined with eleven foreign subsidiaries, 45 sales partners and customers in 65 countries, makes the Hahn + Kolb Group one of the world's leading tool service providers and system suppliers. In 2023, particular attention was paid to expanding the range of products for health and safety in the workplace. A new Clip-O-Flex Workplace, for example, simplifies ergonomic workplace organization in the company. Hahn + Kolb also expanded its team of specialist consultants in the areas of personal protective equipment (PPE) and automation. "The need for advice on automation solutions is also increasing among medium-sized and smaller companies due to the labor shortage. We provide support with our in-depth expertise and our wide range of robots, ensuring a successful entry into automation," explains Steffen Vogl. This also includes a mobile cobot presentation by Hahn + Kolb directly in the companies on site. This saves time and demonstrates the many possible applications of the uncomplicated automatic helpers in production.

AMB in Stuttgart in September 2024 is one of the most important international trade fairs for metalworking on Hahn + Kolb's calendar. The topics of digitalization and automation will also be a central focus here. Hahn + Kolb is therefore looking to the current year with confidence, partly due to customer growth. "We have made a moderate start to the year. Our service portfolio is impressive and we are gaining market share and new customers in various sectors thanks to the dedication of our employees," says Steffen Vogl. In addition to mechanical engineering and companies from the automotive, metal, electronics and energy industries, these include the food industry and companies from the transportation and logistics sector. Large and medium-sized companies are increasingly making their purchasing decisions dependent on the sustainability strategy of their suppliers - a point that also speaks for Hahn + Kolb. The company has been ensuring greater sustainability in its internal processes for many years and is a pioneer for intelligent ordering systems and digital applications in Industry 4.0. EcoVadis assessed its commitment in 2023 with a silver award in its sustainability rating. At the same time, a sustainability report was published within the Würth Group last year, and Hahn + Kolb will produce its first in-house report in 2024. The company will be re-certified by EcoVadis in July.
