2026 German Championship for Painters and Varnishers
Bremen will host the German Championship for Painters and Varnishers. Up to 16 up-and-coming talents will compete for the title of German Champion from November 15 to 18, 2026.
The young painters competing for the titles at the 2026 German Championship for Painters and Varnishers are among the best in their training cohort and have qualified for the German Championship by passing their journeyman’s examination with above-average scores and winning state-level qualifying competitions. “This special competition for young talent highlights the quality of our training,” explains Guido Müller, president of the Federal Association for Paint, Design, and Building Protection. Over two days of competition, the participants must complete five challenging tasks, ranging from wallpapering and painting to creative designs. The competition demands precise execution, technical expertise, an understanding of design, and confident handling of tools, surfaces, and paint.
Two-Day German Championship for Painters and Varnishers
This year’s German Championship will be held at the historic Konzerthaus Die Glocke in Bremen. The L-shaped walls of the competition booths each feature four different surfaces for the tasks. The winners will be announced on November 18 in the Small Hall of Die Glocke. Starting at 9 a.m., visitors can view the competition entries. The 2026 German Championship for Painters and Varnishers is organized by the Federal Association for Paint, Design, and Building Protection and the Bremen Painters’ and Varnishers’ Guild.
