German championship for vehicle painters 2025

The 16 best trainees in Germany will once again be competing in the industry's most prestigious young talent competition this year. They have all impressed not only with top marks in their journeyman's examination, but also in preliminary decisions at chamber and state level. On a total of two competition days, the young vehicle painters will now have to demonstrate their skills, creativity and motivation. "This year's task is a tough one," reveals Torsten Schmidt, Head of the Vehicle Painting Division at the Federal Association of Vehicle Painters (BFL). "Our young colleagues not only have to repair a mudguard, but also give it a three-color design. Next on the agenda is the multi-colored painting of a door. The special challenge: both paint jobs must fit flush at the end. This requires maximum precision and perfection."

In addition to the two specified repair and design paint jobs, the young vehicle painters can give free rein to their creativity by designing a miniature car model. This year's host and main sponsor of the German Automotive Painting Championships is PPG Deutschland Sales & Services GmbH. The established global manufacturer of high-quality automotive coatings will welcome the young talents at its German headquarters. This year, the German Championships for Vehicle Painters will once again be a showcase for the next generation of vehicle painters when 16 young talents demonstrate their potential.
