At the general meeting of the Federal Association of Vehicle Painters (BFL) on March 13, 2026, the incumbent President Steven Didssun was unanimously confirmed in office. Vice President Kay Dähn and board members Martin Bereiter, Arno Knöpfle and Alexander Wollman were also re-elected.

Since taking office in 2023, the BFL Board of Directors led by President Steven Didssun has championed the interests of the German vehicle painting trade - with great success. Among other things, the board of the Federal Association of Vehicle Painters initiated a comprehensive reform of its job description in order to adapt it to modern market requirements and enhance its value for young people. In addition, the Federal Association of Vehicle Painters played a leading role in the development of the Future Compass for Body, Paint and Vehicle Technology. The tool represents a milestone in sustainability reporting for small and medium-sized companies in the automotive repair market. These and numerous other successful projects of the incumbent BFL Board were positively assessed by the members' meeting and resulted in his unanimous re-election.

Re-election at the Federal Association of Vehicle Painters

President Steven Didssun and Vice-President Kay Dähn will steer the fortunes of the German vehicle painting trade for another three years. They will be supported by Martin Bereiter, Board Member for Industrial Painting, Arno Knöpfle for Education and Alexander Wollmann for Technology, Materials and Environment. Hubert Fluck, who has been a member of the Board of Directors for the vehicle painting trade since 2001, was not available for re-election. Instead, Andreas Lau from Schönberg in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern was elected to the Board. Together with Alexander Wollmann, he will devote himself to the area of technology, materials and the environment. "I am very pleased about the renewed trust and the re-election as President of our federal association. It is an honor to be able to represent our interests for another term of office," said Steven Didssun after his election. "I will continue to put my heart and soul into our beautiful trade in the future. My goal remains clear: I will do everything I can to noticeably improve the framework conditions for our companies, promote young talent and make our industry fit for the future."
