The specialty chemicals company BYK is celebrating 150 years: Since 1873, BYK has been a pioneer in specialty chemicals, driving the industry forward with innovative ideas. The company operates internationally and is part of the Altana Group in Wesel. The Lower Rhine Chamber of Industry and Commerce congratulates the company on its 150th anniversary.

BYK has been active in the Lower Rhine region since the 1960s and today mainly produces additives for paints, coatings and plastics. The Lower Rhine Chamber of Industry and Commerce recognizes this achievement and the company's ties to the region and congratulates the company on its 150th anniversary. Successful worldwide as a regional company - BYK has written an impressive success story. IHK President Werner Schaurte-Küppers emphasizes: "BYK's anniversary is an exemplary example of entrepreneurial know-how and commitment in our region. We are proud that BYK is part of our business family." However, the development also shows that, in addition to the right idea and courage, the economic environment is also decisive. "150 years of BYK prove that companies must constantly reinvent themselves. To do this, they need scope and support," said the IHK President.

Dr. Jörg Hinnerwisch, CEO of BYK, is also pleased that the product solutions are so well received globally: "As a globally active company and the largest private employer in Wesel, we are proud of our Lower Rhine roots. Research and development are a top priority for us - far above the industry average. From Wesel, we send our additives all over the world and use them to solve the challenges of our global customers every day. We are also well positioned for the future thanks to our local partners such as the Chamber of Industry and Commerce."
