Aluminum 2026: Henkel Showcases Solutions for Aluminum Pretreatment
At the Aluminium 2026 trade show, Henkel will present solutions for the pretreatment and surface finishing of aluminum. The focus will be on energy- and resource-efficient Bonderite technologies, as well as the new rinse-free bonding agent APNR 2.0.
At Aluminium 2026, taking place October 6–8 in Düsseldorf, Henkel Adhesive Technologies will showcase solutions for more efficient and resource-conserving surface treatment of aluminum at Booth 3H68. The focus will be on technologies from the Bonderite portfolio. Henkel will also provide a first look at APNR 2.0, a new rinse-free bonding agent for aluminum pretreatment. The solutions presented address various challenges in aluminum processing. Bonderite M-ED 11204 enables densification at moderate temperatures of about 85 °C instead of the higher temperatures typical of conventional processes. This reduces energy consumption while maintaining reliable densification performance.
More Efficient Anodizing and Chromium-Free Pretreatment
Bonderite M-AD 2000A is designed to make sulfuric acid anodizing more efficient and stable. The additive allows for higher bath temperatures, thereby reducing the need for cooling. More stable bath chemistry can also reduce chemical consumption and aluminum loss, extend bath life, and shorten process times. For aluminum coils, Henkel offers Bonderite M-NT 61000, a chromium-free pretreatment for architectural applications designed to deliver reliable results and improved paint adhesion. Bonderite M-NT 5200 is suitable for both spray and dip applications. Bonderite M-NT 811 was developed for can end stock and food packaging. This chromium-free dry-in-place pretreatment is tailored to the latest generation of coating systems formulated without BPA-NI and PFAS. At its booth, Henkel will also showcase demonstration panels and sample components, as well as a digital optimization tool for remote monitoring and optimization of production lines.
