The Austrians of the Year were chosen in mid-October at a festive gala in the Sofiensälen in Vienna. In the category "Companies with Responsibility", the prize went to Adler-Lacke from Schwaz in Tyrol and the Berghofer family, who are the third generation to run the family business.

Representing the Berghofer family, but also the entire Adler team, Claudia Berghofer, Head of Corporate Communications, accepted the award from Chamber of Commerce President Harald Mahrer. "Responsibility is not a burden, but a joy and a mission at the same time," she emphasized in her acceptance speech. With its comprehensive commitment to sustainability, the paint manufacturer Adler assumes this responsibility every day - for the environment, for the region and especially for the employees and their families. Thus, every single one of the approximately 22,000 tons of paints and varnishes that Adler supplies annually to customers throughout Europe is still produced in Schwaz. Outsourcing production is not an issue for the manufacturer - on the contrary: in the next few years, the "factory of the future" will be further expanded at the company's headquarters with fully automated raw materials logistics and a new production hall. "Being a family business is not only an obligation to lead the company successfully into the future, it is also an obligation to the employees and their families," says Claudia Berghofer.

The overriding principle is sustainability also in the product range of the Tyrolean leading company: as a pioneer in the field of environmentally friendly water-based coatings, Adler has a diverse range of ecological products with a high proportion of renewable and natural raw materials. Adler is particularly concerned about the quality of its products: "With a high-quality coating, we refine furniture, windows, front doors or facades and significantly extend their service life. In this way, we conserve resources and create lasting values - especially in today's throwaway society, we are making a conscious statement for quality and durability," says Claudia Berghofer.
