A new UV adhesive for securing coil wires and solder joints on commutators has been developed by Panacol (Image: Panacol)

With Vitralit UV E-2113, Panacol has developed an adhesive specifically for the rapid securing of commutators. The new UV acrylate adhesive can be applied automatically and cures within seconds under UV light, which greatly speeds up the commutator securing process.

Vitralit UV E-2113 from Panacol is highly viscous and stable, while at the same time flowing well into cavities thanks to its optimized properties. The adhesive has very good adhesion to all metals, ensuring adhesion to the coil wires as well as to the solder joints and the commutator. The adhesive can be applied in a ring around the commutator in automated processes. The 1-component adhesive is very easy to handle during transportation, storage and dispensing.

Vitralit UV E-2113 cures in a few seconds with light in the UVA range or in the visual range at a wavelength of 405 nm, whereby both gas discharge lamps and LED systems can be used. Dr. Hönle's UV and LED UV curing systems are perfectly matched to Panacol adhesives. The high-intensity LED Powerline AC/IC HP systems cure Vitralit UV E-2113, for example, within seconds, which enables high-speed production in large quantities and eliminates the need for lengthy and energy-intensive oven processes. Commutator protection with Vitralit UV E-2113 can be used as standard and significantly reduce production times and costs. After curing, Vitralit UV E-2113 is extremely impact resistant and has a dry surface. The adhesive is stress and heat resistant and meets the temperature resistance of -40 to 150°C required for the automotive sector.
