Water-based 2K coating from Adler for plastic elements

Adler not only offers its customers a wide range of coatings for wood and wood-based materials, but also for numerous other substrates. The coating of plastic surfaces poses particularly high requirements, for example in terms of adhesion, which Adler's Polycolor Top 2K masters with flying colors: Originally developed for the window sector, the water-based coating has already proven itself in many other areas of application. The coating system impresses with its design variety, high surface quality, process reliability and outstanding environmental properties: The water-based 2K coating has an extremely low VOC content, is free from ingredients that are harmful to the environment and health and is certified with the Cradle to Cradle circular economy seal. With the exception of PE and PP, Polycolor Top 2K is suitable for all plastics - including films and glass fiber-reinforced plastics: "We can offer a suitable coating structure with the appropriate cleaning agents, activators, primers and primers for every common requirement, which guarantees reliable adhesion," says Dr. Simon Leimgruber, who developed the innovative coating together with his team in the Adler laboratory.

With just one application, Polycolor Top 2K enables an extremely durable surface finish, the quality of which has been confirmed by the renowned SKZ Plastics Center: The 2K water-based coating has outstanding permanent elasticity, improves the plastic's resistance to cleaning agents, oils and greases and guarantees hardness and scratch resistance to mechanical stresses, significantly increasing the service life of plastic components. Polycolor Top 2K is therefore ideal for coating a wide range of components and installation elements: door frames and thresholds, profiles and cladding, lamps, smoke detectors and cable ducts. Thanks to its weather resistance, the coating is also suitable for outdoor use, such as for garden furniture, sheds, children's play equipment or even façade elements. The Polycolor Top 2K plastic coating offers almost limitless variety in terms of surface design: the paint can be tinted in all RAL and NCS colors and guarantees high color stability. The paint shows its strengths particularly well in the white version - while uncoated plastics yellow in sunlight, Polycolor Top 2K retains a permanently brilliant white. The coating also improves the cleanability of the surface and makes it resistant to soiling. Various textured pastes enable additional effects, and an anti-heat additive protects against damage and deformation. Polycolor Top 2K thus guarantees a durable, high-quality surface - on any substrate, for any application and in any color.
