Adler: New Aquawood Terra window coating system

Sustainable window coating has never been so easy: with a formula based on natural raw materials, ultra-matt appearance and high functionality, the Aquawood Terra coating system from Adler sets new standards.
Today, no window manufacturer can ignore the issue of sustainability. More and more projects are being put out to tender with the criteria of DGNB, ÖGNI or baubook, and private builders are also increasingly demanding ecological materials. Thomas Braschel, CEO of Austrian window manufacturer Gaulhofer, emphasizes: "Wood and wood-aluminum windows offer all the prerequisites for sustainable construction in the sense of the circular economy. In order to exploit this potential, we need convincing concepts and high-performance, environmentally friendly materials for window production." Materials such as Aquawood Terra from Adler: the new window coating system combines proven Adler quality with a comprehensively sustainable formula - and also offers clear advantages in terms of appearance, feel and durability. In terms of surface quality and processing, the new product meets the high standards that fabricators have come to expect from Adler: The Aquawood Intermedio Terra intermediate coat ensures perfect all-round sealing and moisture protection, while the Aquawood Finapro Terra top coat offers exceptionally high mechanical strength, weather and UV resistance. With the Aquawood Primo primer, a high-quality and standard-compliant 3-layer structure is guaranteed, and a completely agent-free coating structure is also possible.
Processing is also optimized for the high demands of customers thanks to a very short drying time. With its ultra-matt, extremely natural look and feel, the new system also sets new standards: "Aquawood Finapro Terra is the first 1-component window coating that enables such a deep gloss level and maximum transparency, even for weathered areas - wooden windows look almost like uncoated," explains Dr. Simon Leimgruber, Head of Development for window coatings in the Adler laboratory. The coating is insensitive to scratches or shining: "Thanks to an innovative combination of raw materials, the surface is particularly elastic and can compensate for minor damage on its own," explains Leimgruber. The same combination of raw materials is also responsible for the high sustainability standard of Aquawood Terra, which is confirmed by the "Cradle to Cradle" certificate. The intermediate coating and top coat are made from over 80 percent natural and renewable raw materials, have an extremely low VOC content and are free from biocidal substances. Aquawood Terra therefore meets all the requirements for particularly sustainable construction projects and at the same time guarantees the perfect product quality that Adler processors value. "Sustainability is extremely important to Gaulhofer, from the processing of regional raw materials to energy and waste management," says Gaulhofer CEO Thomas Braschel. "With Adler, we have a partner at our side who has absolute credibility and expertise in this area and supports us with sustainable coatings of reliable quality!"
