With its new CrystalClear Technology (CCT), Austrian coatings manufacturer Adler is setting a new milestone in window and front door coatings: CCT enables crystal-clear transparency combined with highly effective light protection and the best surface quality.

Anyone who relies on the high-quality material wood for windows and front doors also wants to show it off in all its beauty! Until now, however, this was only possible to a limited extent: highly transparent window coatings inevitably caused yellowing or fading. Coating systems that counteracted this discoloration were much less transparent. In the front door sector, many manufacturers therefore rely on oils - with all their advantages and disadvantages: Oiled surfaces, for example, are known to have less protection against weathering or mechanical stress, which often leads to problems, especially with front doors. In addition, oiled surfaces must be maintained at regular intervals of 6 to 12 months - a costly maintenance that experience shows is often neglected. But now the coatings manufacturer Adler offers a solution: the new CrystalClear Technology (CCT) combines crystal-clear brilliance with highly effective light protection and the perfect surface quality. The recipe for success behind the new CCT technology is a unique light protection package developed by the team led by development manager Dr. Simon Leimgruber in Adler's laboratory.

"We have combined different UV absorbers in such a way that we achieve the best possible protection in the entire wavelength range of visible and invisible radiation," says Dr. Leimgruber. This is particularly important for oak windows: Conventional light stabilizers only protect against UV radiation - but they can do nothing against the dreaded fading of the oak. The new high-performance light protection from Adler, on the other hand, also absorbs parts of the visible light spectrum in a very targeted manner - the yellowing of spruce, pine or fir is thus prevented just as much as the fading of oak wood. At the same time, the light protection package has only a minimal inherent coloration - the authentic, high-contrast character of the wood is preserved down to every pore. The unique CCT technology is available for the 1K window coating system Ligno+, the 2K window coating system Aquawood Diamond and the 2K house door coating Aquawood Protor. The wood is first coated with the appropriate primer for oak, larch or spruce, pine and fir. Finally, after the intermediate coating, the highly transparent top coat is applied, which ensures an absolutely resistant surface and long-lasting light protection. "With CrystalClear technology, we have achieved a real milestone," explains Dr. Leimgruber proudly. "For the first time, it is now possible to coat windows and front doors with maximum transparency and in uncompromising surface quality - enabling us to offer a high-quality complete solution for the current trend towards a natural wood look."
