For two days in late autumn 2022, the center of the European furniture industry was in Tyrol: At the international furniture industry event at the Adler plant in Schwaz, manufacturers from all over Europe met for inspiring presentations, professional exchange and a relaxed get-together.

More than 100 participants were welcomed by Adler division manager Daniel Pesserer to the two-day event, which was held under the motto: "Everything in the green!" Already the first lecture gave a foretaste of the top-class program: Andreas Huber, Managing Director of the German Club of Rome, posed the provocative question: Are we change-makers or preventers on the way to a life-enhancing future? The possibilities offered by the coating process for a "positive ecological footprint" were then explained by Reinhard Guem and Christian Schütz, development and sales managers, respectively, for the furniture industry at Adler: efficient processes with low material loss and energy requirements, low-emission coatings with a high proportion of natural and renewable raw materials, product design based on the principles of the circular economy and, last but not least, a high surface quality that extends the service life of each piece of furniture.

Innovative coating processes were the focus of the second day at Adler's international furniture industry event: Edy Bortolotto, Managing Director of the Italian coating company Innova, reported on positive experiences with excimer technology and the corresponding UV coating systems from Adler for deep matt and resistant surfaces. Cefla sales manager Patrick Görner gave an outlook on new system technologies for particularly material- and energy-efficient coating. And Stefan Veil from UV specialist IST Metz explained how Freecure and LED can be used to achieve higher surface quality with lower energy requirements. Finally, the event was crowned by Kurt Matzler: the Tyrolean strategy and management researcher translated his experiences at the Race Across America, the toughest bicycle race in the world, into eight valuable leadership lessons. The supporting program was in no way inferior to the top-class lectures: Varied culinary breaks, a guided tour of the modern Adler factory and an evening at the fortress in Kufstein provided the setting for refreshing old contacts and making new ones. "There are not often occasions when representatives of so many different manufacturers come together in one place and find the opportunity for a professional exchange," Daniel Pesserer looks back on a successful event: "New contacts, interesting conversations and valuable food for thought, plus enough time for socializing - with these positive experiences, we are already looking forward to our next international furniture industry event in two years!"
