At the digital coating and Qualicoat seminar of the Verband für die Oberflächenveredelung von Aluminium e.V. (VOA) on October 11, 2022, everything revolved around the optimum coating quality of aluminum.

Several experts from the ranks of VOA member companies shared their knowledge with the approximately 50 participants of the VOA's coating and Qualicoat seminar and provided useful tips for practical application. The VOA's regular continuing education program offers member companies as well as interested parties the opportunity to receive technical input on the latest developments as well as to exchange ideas and learn from each other. In brief: Qualicoat (Association for Quality Control in the Lacquering, Painting and Coating Industry) stands internationally for quality-assured and controlled coating with powder and wet paint. The basis for the award of the globally valid quality mark is formed by the regularly evaluated specifications. They were the first item on the agenda at the VOA seminar, which is the general licensee of the quality mark in Germany. The specifications incorporate the latest findings from science and research around the globe as well as current international expert knowledge. Thus the requirement finds lasting building and the building stock climaticneutrally to arrange with the Generallizenzgeber in the project Qualicoat 3,0 again consideration.

VOA managing director Dr. Alexa A. Becker states: "This is an important step, because the topic of sustainability is in the focus of the construction industry. The goal is to ensure the quality of recycled aluminum alloys in sustainable construction projects worldwide with the international Qualicoat 3.0 quality mark." In view of the changing demands of the global market, it is important to remain curious and constantly educate oneself. Due to the potentially uncertain energy supply in combination with exploding costs for electricity and gas, the VOA also launched the exchange of experiences on the topic of "energy saving" in its seminar. The participants exchanged many practical ideas on saving measures and on the efficient use of energy in existing plants as well as in new buildings. The VOA project group "Energy" prepares the collected, practical tips in the follow-up of the seminar and makes them available to the member companies as an aid to action. The seminar was moderated by Matthias Krämer, Head of Technology at the VOA. For the coming year, the VOA is planning the coating and Qualicoat seminar as an attendance event.
