Pfleiderer OrganicBoard Pure P2: Coated chipboard made from recycled wood
With OrganicBoard Pure P2, Pfleiderer has launched a coated decorative chipboard made from 100% recycled wood and 100% biogenic gluing with OrganicGlue for furniture and interior design.
Pfleiderer already achieved a decisive material innovation last year with OrganicBoard P2. With its natural and regenerative raw material concept, the decorative board for furniture and interior design set standards in the transition from fossil to biogenic formulations: With OrganicBoard Pure P2, the company is now presenting another milestone - with a chipboard core made from 100% recycled wood and 100% biogenic gluing with OrganicGlue. The consistent sustainability of OrganicBoard Pure P2 is not only confirmed by numerous seals, the innovative product has also already received the "German Award for Sustainability Projects 2024" and is a finalist in the "Federal Ecodesign Award" competition. The product was recently nominated for the "17th German Sustainability Award". As with all Pfleiderer products, OrganicBoard Pure P2 offers uncompromising "Made in Germany" quality that is reliable to work with and sets no limits to design freedom.
The melamine-coated decorative panel OrganicBoard Pure P2 is based on a resource-conserving, sustainable wood mix that consists of 100% recycled wood - with FSC or PEFC certification on request. "A real enhancement is the use of 100% OrganicGlue for gluing the chipboard core," explains Stefan Zinn, CCO of Pfleiderer Deutschland GmbH. "OrganicGlue is made from biogenic raw materials that are produced as by-products in other industries. This makes a decisive contribution to improving sustainability and conserving fossil resources." And Stefan Zinn sees another advantage in the product: "By using OrganicGlue, production is largely decoupled from the supply situation for natural gas and urea. In principle and in the current situation, this fact is also of great importance." OrganicBoard Pure P2 is available in the panel formats 5,600 / 2,800 x 2,100 mm and in thicknesses of 8, 10, 16, 18, 19, 22 and 25 mm. Other thicknesses are available on request. The range of decors and textures includes all variants of DST-Express. In addition to its ecological and design advantages, the surface of the new board, like all Pfleiderer decorative products, is particularly easy to clean and antimicrobial. In terms of technical properties as well as workability and processability, there are no restrictions to the previous standard DecoBoard P2 and OrganicBoard P2.
