Adler simplifies the processing of wooden surfaces with its new Legno Smart oil. The high-solids oil enables particularly resistant and robust surfaces and only requires a single application.

With the new Legno Smart oil from Adler, weak points in the processing of oiled surfaces in furniture and interior design, such as having to apply the oil twice by hand, are a thing of the past. The innovative 2-component oil achieves a high level of chemical and mechanical resistance that can withstand even heavy use. Furniture and table tops can be finished with it, as can interior doors, and thanks to its good slip resistance with anti-slip class R11, the oil is also ideal for floors and stairs. Thanks to the high solids content of the high-solids oil, a single application is sufficient: "We recommend sanding the oil directly into the wood with a fine sanding fleece - this further improves the resistance and surface quality," explains Dr. Gabriel Partl, who developed the new product with his team in Adler's R&D department. The oil also impresses with its outstanding environmental properties, as Legno Smart oil is produced on the basis of natural oils and is free from heavy metals in accordance with EN 71-3. In addition to the colorless version, Adler offers a wide selection of different standard colors. "This opens up great scope for design, from a natural wood effect even on light woods to elegant shades of grey and black," says Dr. Partl.

High-effect metallic oil for wooden surfaces

Legno Smart Oil is not the only new addition to the furniture oil range from leading Austrian lacquer manufacturer Adler. Legno Metallic Oil is available in gold and silver for high-impact surface accents. "The oil contains high-quality special pigments that create an elegant, shimmering shade," explains Dr. Partl. This gives the wood a unique, porous look that is guaranteed to make every piece of furniture an eye-catcher - and is very easy and safe to use. The third product Adler is presenting is the new Legno Natura oil, which has been specially developed for wood surfaces with direct and permanent food contact. "Many processors use olive oil, linseed oil or walnut oil, but these either dry poorly, have a strong smell and taste of their own or may contain allergens," explains Dr. Partl. Legno Natura oil is pure nature: it is produced on the basis of low-odour and low-taste natural oils and is free from solvents and other additives. It is also non-yellowing and color-neutral - the perfect, safe and sustainable surface treatment for cutting and serving boards or fruit bowls, for example. Oiled surfaces are popular in furniture and interior design for good reason. They bring out the character of wood to its best advantage, impress with their pleasant look and feel and create a feel-good atmosphere in the interior. With regular care, this natural beauty is permanently preserved and minor damage can be easily repaired.
