RAL Farben launches water-based RAL K5 color fan

The RAL K5 color fan is now being produced with water-based paint technology in gloss and semi-matt versions. Last year, the compact RAL K7 color fan was the first high-gloss color fan to be converted to water-based paint production.
With the new water-based RAL K5 color fan, the three most frequently used color fans in the RAL Classic color collection are now available based on innovative paint technology. "The use of water-based paints reduces emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by 90% compared to conventional nitro paint production. We are therefore taking the next important step towards environmental compatibility with this changeover," says Markus Frentrop, Global Head RAL Colors. "Our customers benefit not only from lower-emission products, but also from increased protection against yellowing, as water-based paints are more UV-resistant than nitrocellulose paints." At the same time, the paints are low in solvents and odor.
Both versions of the popular and well-known colour fan contain all 216 standardized RAL Classic shades in the usual precision and colour fidelity. Like all RAL color samples, the RAL K5 color fans are also produced in Germany. This avoids unnecessary transportation. The new RAL K5 water-based color fans are now available via the RAL online store and from selected specialist dealers.
