RAL introduces water-based color fan RAL K7
RAL has announced the launch of the RAL K7 water-based color chart. With the publication of the water-based color chart, RAL is starting the conversion of its product range to water-based solutions.
With the market launch of the RAL K7 water-based color fan, RAL is setting an important milestone for innovation and sustainability. The fan was developed in close cooperation with the companies Schupp Musterkarten and Haering. "With the launch of RAL K7, we are introducing the first high-gloss water-based color fan. With this switch to water-based paint technology, we can significantly reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and lower emissions," says Markus Frentrop, Head of RAL Colors. "Compared to the conventional production of color cards, our innovative technology saves around six tons or around 90% of VOC emissions in the production of an annual quantity of RAL K7, which corresponds to a CO2 equivalent of around 36 tons. The changeover is therefore a significant step towards environmental compatibility and the tangible implementation of our sustainable corporate strategy at RAL for our customers and partners." The innovative water-based paint is also more UV-resistant and therefore offers better protection against yellowing of the paints compared to conventional nitro paints. In addition to the advantage that water-based paints are particularly low in solvents and odor, RAL's water-based shades impress with their high brilliance.
In addition, all RAL color samples are manufactured in Germany in compliance with high testing and quality standards to ensure the usual precision and reliability and to support the advantages of the production site in terms of social and ecological sustainability. To improve the international usability of the fan, each shade is coded and labeled with an English color name on the front. Additional language options are offered as separate pages in the fan. The RAL K7 Classic colour fan visualizes the colour spectrum of the historically grown RAL Classic colour collection with its 216 proven colors. Manufacturers from a wide range of sectors around the world code their products in RAL Classic colors. The RAL K7 color fan is therefore an important tool for a common color language for different production and application stages.
