RAL Colours presents the trend colors that will shape the future. The new RAL Colour Feeling 2027+ trend report presents 15 coordinated shades and offers valuable guidance for architecture, design and industry. The high-contrast palette was developed again this year in close cooperation with the IIT Institute International Trendscouting and represents the seventh edition of RAL Colors in cooperation with the color designers at the University of Hildesheim.
New color collection Envision + Craft
Under the title Envision + Craft, the diverse collection combines innovative future concepts with precision craftsmanship. The color palette stands for consistency and new beginnings and covers a broad spectrum: from lively to characterful main tones. Neutral tones form the creative foundation for the design of physical and virtual products, collections and spaces for 2027 and beyond.
Color collection with 15 coordinated colors
The special feature of the collection is its careful pre-curation: all 15 colors are coordinated in such a way that they harmonize with each other even in very different work and life situations. This allows both dynamic contrasts and subtle tone-on-tone compositions to be created. This consistent compatibility of colors makes decision-making processes in design and architecture considerably easier. Planners can concentrate on the conceptual work, while the technical harmony of the colors is guaranteed.
"The methodology is based on systematic trend research," explains the development team. "Through semi-annual trend panels with 20,000 analyzed images each, we have built up a comprehensive database that enables reliable forecasts." The colors were not only tested for their aesthetic effect, but also for material suitability, cultural resonance and longevity.
Implementation of the RAL color trend palette by industry partners
Leading industry partners have already validated the practical feasibility: Covestro developed corresponding plastic solutions, Gabriel Fabrics translated the palette into textile qualities, Object Carpet curated suitable floor coverings and Tiger Coatings realized powder-coated surfaces. This cross-material validation guarantees consistent color implementation across different substrates.
The accompanying RAL Trendbox materializes the concept in practical application. The box contains all 15 color tones as RAL D6 single sheets, powder-coated metal samples, plastic samples as well as textile and carpet samples. This haptic component is fundamental for well thought-out design decisions (OM-10/25).
