Matt lacquered surfaces look elegant, are trendy and modern, but are also very sensitive. With Adler NXT technology, shining, fingerprints and unsightly scratches on matt furniture surfaces are finally a thing of the past. The unique lacquer technology makes matt lacquers robust and resistant - without the need for complex system technology.
The kitchen fronts in matt dark gray, the sideboard in velvety pastel shades, the bedroom wardrobe in elegant white: matt lacquered surfaces look great - as long as they are protected and regularly cared for. But in everyday use, unsightly signs of wear usually soon appear: fingerprints on the drawers, shiny spots around the door handle, superficial scratches and soiling. Although the excimer process makes matt surfaces more resistant, it is associated with high investments in the corresponding equipment. However, the innovative NXT technology from leading Austrian paint manufacturer Adler now promises a solution to this dilemma. Because with Adler NXT, a matt look, velvety feel and high, reliable resistance are finally no longer a contradiction in terms.
Unique lacquer technology for matt surfaces
Wolfgang Danzl, lacquer technician and experienced developer of water-based furniture lacquers in Adler's laboratory, got to the root of the problem, so to speak. "The matt lacquer film is usually achieved with matting agents; they form a micro-rough structure that diffusely reflects the light and therefore appears matt. However, these matting agents are usually very sensitive; with very matt surfaces, contact with a fingernail is enough to smooth out the rough structure so that the surface shines," explains Danzl. For Adler NXT, he has devised a unique raw material technology that solves this problem once and for all. "We have succeeded in giving the lacquer a soft, rounded microstructure that has a deep matt appearance and is absolutely insensitive at the same time. The fingernail glides over the matt surface and leaves no traces of gloss or marks." Adler NXT can therefore be used to achieve very matt furniture surfaces with a scratch resistance and gloss behavior similar to that of an excimer coating - and without any expensive system technology.
Furniture lacquer solutions for trade & industry
Adler offers two of its most popular water-based furniture coatings with the innovative NXT finish. The 2K UV lacquer Pigmolux HQ NXT is the best choice for industrial processors: it scores with perfect processing properties, high time and energy efficiency as well as an extremely resistant surface. All of this comes in a package with an unprecedented gloss level and high scratch resistance, an elegant deep matt appearance and a pleasant, soft feel. Adler also offers the 4in1 coating Bluefin Pigmores NXT for commercial processors. The low-emission 2-component paint is ideal for use on primer films or filled surfaces and guarantees maximum chemical and mechanical resistance in numerous color shades. Once again, Adler's Research & Development department has come up with a spectacular coating innovation, explains Wolfgang Danzl: "The combination of high scratch resistance and a very matt appearance was previously only available in the excimer process. With Adler NXT, we can now make this unique surface quality available to all our customers: for trendy surfaces suitable for everyday use in the entire living and kitchen area!" (OM-1/25)
