Color change block makes wet paint color changes easy

Frequent color changes in wet paint spraying systems are simplified with a color change block. A new model can be configured in a variety of ways and is suitable for various low-pressure applications in robotic and automatic systems.

Color change blocks are indispensable when several colors are used in an automatic wet coating system and therefore frequent color changes are necessary. Typical areas of application are coatings in the wood and furniture industry, for example in flatbed machines, where there are high demands on color variety. Or automotive suppliers for the coating of interior and exterior components.

Automated coating systems must be able to ensure high cycle rates. To keep interruptions to ongoing operations to a minimum, fast and reliable color changes are crucial. The Wagner color change block makes a major contribution to this. The desired application medium is simply selected via the respective pneumatically controllable valve. The time required for rinsing and the rinsing agent consumption are very low thanks to the dead space-free internal geometry of the block - this shortens the time required for color changes. The configuration with two or more output channels offers further time savings: While the active color is being applied, the other channel can be rinsed and a second color presented.

In addition, the Wagner color change block scores particularly well with its individual configuration options: Whether, for example, as a compact double valve block with one output channel and up to 24 valves, as a multi-channel block with up to 8 output and 24 input channels, or as a 2K mixing block. Thanks to the modular principle, with which several valve blocks can be flexibly arranged in a row, and many connection options (e.g. for gear pumps or material pressure regulators), it can be adapted to a wide variety of requirements. It therefore offers significantly more flexibility than comparable products on the market. Depending on the material being applied, needle or diaphragm valves can be installed to increase the service life, even for abrasive materials. Thanks to its size and modular design, the color change block can be perfectly integrated into various automated systems, for example on a robot arm, in installations with linear axes or 2K systems. It is also easily accessible when maintenance, such as a hose change, is required. It is also very easy to replace valves or valve blocks and extend the color change block without the need for special tools.
