The German Association for the Surface Finishing of Aluminium (VOA) is pleased to announce the continuation of its laboratory workshop series for anodizers in collaboration with the Fem Research Institute in Schwäbisch Gmünd. From 17 to 18 September 2025, the event brought together experts from the industry to deepen their knowledge of anodizing and gain practical experience in the laboratory.
Problems, error patterns or samples at the anodizing workshop
As an industry association, the VOA is passionately committed to the further development of the surface finishing of aluminum and constantly promotes the professional exchange of member companies and further training. At the laboratory workshop for anodizers at the Fem premises, participants were able to submit their own problems, defect patterns or samples in advance. During the group phase of the workshop, these were discussed intensively under the guidance of experienced experts, dealt with and provided with concrete solutions. The result: practical ideas that can be implemented directly in the company.
"Support for daily practice in the company is particularly important to us," emphasizes VOA Managing Director Dr. Alexa A. Becker. "The direct exchange, the joint solution of challenges and the development of new approaches strengthen the expertise of our industry and promote innovations that make the difference."
Further workshops for anodizers and coaters
The positive response from participants underlines the importance of practical, interactive training formats. The VOA plans to offer the workshop regularly in future, alternating between anodizers and coaters, and - in view of the many coating companies among its members - to expand it even further in order to continuously strengthen the industry's expertise. The VOA is looking forward to the next events and to further advancing the industry with fresh ideas and committed support. (OM-9/25)
