Cleanstab AS is the latest innovation from Richard Geiss GmbH, based in Offingen, Bavaria. The newly developed sump stabilizer for modified alcohols is used whenever the acidity of the solvent is to be reduced and the pH value increased. Cleanstab AS thus brings the solvent bath back into balance - for a stable cleaning process. "Our new Cleanstab AS stabilizer is the ideal complement to our proven Cleanstab S. Both are sump stabilizers for modified alcohols. With the new development, we thus cover even broader application possibilities for our customers in solvent stabilization and have consistently expanded our product portfolio," explains Bastian Geiss, managing partner of Richard Geiss GmbH. A patent application has already been filed for the innovation.
Sump stabilizer Cleanstab AS
Cleanstab AS is a sump stabilizer with a pH value of 13.5 (at 20°C) and is used in cleaning systems for surface cleaning and metal degreasing. As a stabilizer for modified alcohols, it reduces the acidity of the solvent while raising the pH. If the solvent bath is too acidic, this has negative consequences: There is a risk of corrosion both for the cleaned parts and for the plant.
Save costs and the environment
Solvent specialist Bastian Geiss adds: "The stabilization of solvents in surface cleaning is a real issue. If the solvent bath tilts, this not only affects the cleaning result, but in the worst case it leads to plant shutdowns and production losses. With our stabilizers, such as Cleanstab AS, plant operators can rely on a stable process, save money and protect the environment."
A stable solvent bath not only provides greater safety and quality in cleaning (no corrosion and no staining), but also increases the service life of the solvent. If the solvent needs to be replaced less often, that means lower costs as well as less waste and CO2 for the environment.
Solvent monitoring and bath maintenance
Geiss recommends solvent monitoring and bath maintenance using Cleanstab AS at least once a week. In addition to the stabilizer, the Geiss Quick-Test test kit for modified alcohols, such as RG Cleaner 63 and RG Isoclean 59, is used for solvent monitoring. The Quick-Test determines the acidity or alkalinity, the pH value and the chloride content in the solvent bath.
In-house laboratory and all-round service
The patent-pending new stabilizer Cleanstab AS was developed by the solvent specialists at Richard Geiss GmbH in the company's own laboratory. This is also where the waste products are analyzed, which are reprocessed into high-purity distillates at the company's site in Offingen. The recyclates are returned to the cycle. In addition to laboratory services, including customer tests, Richard Geiss GmbH also handles all transport and logistics for its customers. Using their own fleet of vehicles, the solvent specialists deliver fresh goods to customers and pick up used goods. (OM-10/23)
