The blasting media manufacturer Vulkan Inox achieved success in 2024: The company opened a branch in Mexico, won the Top 100 Innovation Award in the Top Innovator category and made progress in its sustainability strategy.

Looking back on 2024, Vulkan-Inox, a leading manufacturer of stainless steel blasting abrasives, was pleased with its successes, innovations and significant milestones. Vulkan Inox's expansion into the international market continued with the opening of a subsidiary in Mexico. This step is part of the company's global growth strategy to strengthen its presence in North America and beyond. Mexico offers particularly great potential, as the country is an important center for the automotive and mechanical engineering industries, in which stainless steel blasting abrasives from Vulkan Inox play an increasingly important role.

Vulkan Inox wins Top 100 innovation award

An outstanding event for Vulkan Inox in 2024 was winning the TOP 100 Innovation Award in the Top Innovator 2024 category for its continuous progress in stainless steel blasting media technology. A complex selection process examines five categories such as top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization as well as organization/outside orientation/open innovation and innovation success. The award was presented at a ceremony in June 2024 by science journalist Ranghar Yogeshwar. In his speech, Yogeshwar emphasized how important it is to recognize companies like Vulkan Inox that are shaping and advancing the industry through their innovative strength (reported by Oberfläche-Online).

Focus on sustainability at Vulkan Inox

Over the past five years, Vulkan Inox has made significant progress in its sustainability strategy to reduce its environmental footprint while optimizing its production processes. The company's efforts have focused primarily on reducing emissions, saving water and improving energy efficiency. "We are firmly convinced that the greatest challenges of our time can only be mastered through innovation. In particular, the efficient use of raw materials and energy sources, as well as the urgently needed decarbonization of all processes across the entire product life cycle, are crucial here. As a foundry, this task presents us with an enormous challenge, but it fills us with pride that we have succeeded in reducing our CO2 emissions by a remarkable 90% over the last five years," explains Marc Hidde, Managing Director of Vulkan Inox. Andre Hahn, Head of Quality Assurance, adds: "By using a modern exhaust air system with a capacity of 45,000 m³/h and using 15,000 m³/h of this air for heat recovery, we have not only been able to reduce energy consumption, but also heat our production halls efficiently. These measures led to a significant reduction in our emissions and thus actively contributed to climate protection." Vulkan Inox is looking to the year 2025 with great confidence and optimism. "We have positioned ourselves strongly in recent years and will continue to focus on innovation in order to be able to offer our customers the best solutions in the future," explains Hidde. "We are convinced that we will continue to expand our market leadership in the coming years and remain a reliable partner for all blasting media requirements."
