VdL: Declines in Sales in the Paint and Printing Ink Industry
The Association of the German Coatings and Printing Inks Industry (VdL) reports declines in sales across nearly all sectors. This is evident from the VdL’s latest digital economic brochure, “The Year in Figures 2025,” which has just been published.
The VdL’s digital booklet, “The Year in Numbers 2025,” demonstrates how the overall economic downturn is weighing on the performance of nearly all sectors in the coatings, paints, and printing inks industries. In line with the trend in the (chemical) industry, the sector had to cope with a decline in both sales volume and revenue. A slight improvement is expected for 2026, though this is jeopardized by global crises and uncertainties.

The publication concludes by summarizing the key figures from the past fiscal year and provides a detailed overview of economic developments in production, sales, and foreign trade.
