SurFunction receives "Best Award 2025" for surface functionalization

SurFunction GmbH was awarded second place in the prestigious "Best Award 2025" in the steel, metal service and surface technology category at Blechexpo 2025.
The "Best Award 2025" was impressed by the fully industrialized Elipsys technology platform and the world's first demonstration of Direct Laser Interference Patterning (DLIP) technology in real series operation in the form of the highly innovative E 960 C₁ laser system - a pioneering breakthrough for surface technology and a milestone on the way to mass production of functional micro- and nanostructures. The prize was awarded for the highly innovative concept, which sets new standards in surface processing and was demonstrated to be particularly cost-effective. The jury particularly praised the maximum precision in structuring metallic surfaces, the modular and scalable system concept for industrial applications, the energy-efficient process control with a focus on sustainability, the use of AI-supported process monitoring for quality assurance and the industrialization and cost-effectiveness achieved.

The Best Award is the innovation prize for exhibitors at the Blechexpo/Schweisstec trade fairs and honors outstanding technological innovations in individual categories. It is regarded as an industry seal of technological excellence and innovative strength. To ensure the high quality of the award, a high-caliber jury of experts was appointed and all applications were carefully examined. The award ceremony was held in the Atrium of Messe Stuttgart.
