Ruderer Introduces Two-Component Epoxy Resin Adhesive for High-Temperature Applications

With Technicoll 9464, Ruderer Klebetechnik introduces a two-component epoxy resin adhesive for high-strength structural bonding. The adhesive combines high temperature and chemical resistance with self-extinguishing fire behavior and is designed for applications in transportation, automotive manufacturing, aerospace, electronics, and the composites industry.
Modern structural bonding applications often require much more than simply joining components. High temperatures, aggressive media, and mechanical stresses place high demands on the adhesive. The new two-component epoxy resin adhesive Technicoll 9464 from Ruderer Klebetechnik is designed for such operating conditions. It can be used continuously in a temperature range of approximately -40 to +150 °C and can withstand temperatures up to +180 °C for short periods. This makes the adhesive suitable even for components that undergo powder coating after bonding. In addition, the material is characterized by high resistance to oils, fuels, and diluted acids, as well as low outgassing. The paste-like, gap-filling adhesive is specifically designed for metals such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and galvanized steel, as well as for fiber-reinforced composites such as GRP, CFRP, and SMC. Depending on the application, it can also bond glass, ceramics, wood-based materials, stone, or concrete. Incorporated glass beads ensure a defined bond gap and support reproducible results in the manufacturing process.
Structural adhesive for demanding operating conditions
Another key focus is on safety-critical applications. Technicoll 9464 meets the requirements for self-extinguishing fire behavior according to EN 45545-2 for rail transport, as well as according to FAR 25.853 and ABD0031 (AITM) for aerospace applications. This makes the adhesive suitable for assemblies where, in addition to strength, fire protection and material compatibility play an important role. With a working time of approximately 120 minutes, the adhesive can be used in both individual applications and industrial manufacturing processes. Typical applications range from structural bonding in automotive and specialty vehicle manufacturing to sensor and electronics applications, as well as components for the aerospace industry and sandwich and lightweight structures. According to Ruderer, Technicoll 9464 is expected to offer particular advantages in applications where long-term temperature and chemical resistance, as well as high process reliability, are required.
