Polytec GmbH mourns the loss of its founder, Liselotte Lossau. Together with her husband, Heinz G. Lossau, she founded the company in 1967, laying the foundation for today’s internationally active Polytec Group. She passed away at the age of 93.

With her business acumen and organizational skills, Liselotte Lossau laid the organizational and economic foundations that enabled Polytec to grow over the decades. For many years, she was responsible for finance, marketing, human resources, customs, and later IT, among other areas; she oversaw construction projects and drove the modernization of the company’s organizational structure from an early stage. “Liselotte Lossau was an intelligent, modest, and impressively dynamic individual,” says Dr. Alexander Huber, CEO of Polytec. “She not only helped build Polytec but also instilled in our company the values that continue to define us today. She knew how to combine entrepreneurial spirit and humanity in a unique way. Her legacy remains inextricably linked to the history of Polytec.”

Remained Closely Tied to Polytec as a Shareholder

Even after stepping down from day-to-day operations, Liselotte Lossau remained closely connected to Polytec as a shareholder and followed the company’s development with great interest well into her later years. In addition, she was actively involved in hospice care in the Karlsruhe region for many years. For this extraordinary volunteer work, she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 2020. “I was very fortunate to have known Liselotte Lossau personally for many years,” says Alfred Link, CFO of Polytec. “I was always impressed by her business acumen, her down-to-earth nature, and her genuine interest in people. She naturally took on responsibility wherever she was needed, while always remaining true to herself. For that, I will always be grateful to her.” With the passing of Liselotte Lossau, Polytec loses its co-founder and a figure who played a decisive role in shaping the company over decades.
