Polytec: Non-contact coating thickness measurement for fuel cells

New in the Polytec portfolio is a coating thickness measurement system optimized for fuel cell development and production. With the non-contact photothermal method, coatings in fuel cells can be measured non-destructively.
Monitoring and measuring the thickness of functional coatings in fuel cells is critical to the manufacturing process. The non-contact photothermal method is ideal for these semi- or intransparent coatings. Since the spot diameter can be adjusted, measurements can be made easily on flat coatings as well as on complex, filigree structures, such as on bipolar plates of modern fuel cells.
Measuring times of less than one second per measuring point, the non-destructive measuring method and a compact, lightweight measuring head (64 x 35 x 35 mm) also allow measurements close to production. In-line monitoring or robot arm mounting is easily possible. A turnkey system with measuring chamber is available for at-line and laboratory measurements. Polytec offers consulting, feasibility studies, sales and service for German-speaking countries.
