At Euroguss 2026 in Nuremberg, Plasmatreat will be demonstrating how atmospheric pressure plasma can be used to make metal surfaces process-safe for subsequent steps such as coating, sealing, bonding and printing.

From January 13 to 15, 2026, visitors to Euroguss in Hall 6, Stand 219 will be able to experience live how plasma improves surface treatment - with a focus on highly effective cleaning, innovative nano-coating as corrosion protection and maximum inline process capability. Plasmatreat's innovative plasma processes such as Openair-Plasma, HydroPlasma and PlasmaPlus not only ensure effective surface modification, but also make processes more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Removing inorganic residues with HydroPlasma

With HydroPlasma, Plasmatreat has developed a new cleaning process that combines the physical effect of open-air plasma with the chemical reactivity of water. Water is fed into the plasma process and ionized. The resulting reactive species dissolve organic and inorganic residues and convert them into soluble or gaseous components. The effect is similar to intensive cleaning with detergent in warm water, but does not require any additional chemical cleaning agents. The PTU (Plasma Treatment Unit) cell type 1212 will therefore take center stage at the trade fair, demonstrating how HydroPlasma can be used to remove impurities from workpieces. Various aluminum and magnesium sample parts will be treated at a live table. Visitors can see directly how ultra-fine cleaning of the metal surfaces improves wetting and adhesion. In addition to the illustrative ultra-fine cleaning of metal components, they will also have the opportunity to see analytical methods for detecting the plasma treatment. The company has developed an innovative and fast test procedure - the AntiCorr test fluids - especially for the rapid detection of the AntiCorr coating. Within seconds, visible and analyzable results are obtained that allow reliable conclusions to be drawn about the success of the coating. This state-of-the-art approach changes the evaluation process and offers unprecedented efficiency.

Ultra-fine cleaning with open-air plasma - precise and chemical-free

Surfaces of metal components are often contaminated by the release agents and lubricants, cutting oils or drawing greases required in the manufacturing processes. These contaminants must be removed to ensure flawless further processing. Conventional cleaning processes are usually carried out with chemicals. Nevertheless, residues often remain that make further processing of the components, e.g. sealing or bonding, more difficult. Plasmatreat's open-air plasma technology is a thorough and environmentally friendly alternative to cleaning with wet chemicals. This technology only requires compressed air and electricity to remove organic contamination. It is therefore a very clean technology that is efficient, inline-capable and selectively applicable. PlasmaPlus, another process developed by Plasmatreat, gives metal substrates a nano-coating. A precursor is added to the plasma in order to create an ultra-thin, highly effective layer on the metal surface, which takes on a specific function depending on its composition: The PlasmaPlus AntiCorr process is used for a high-performance anti-corrosion coating which, among other things, serves as a protective layer under housing seals, thus protecting the components from infiltration corrosion, e.g. effectively protecting electronic components from damage. The decisive advantage of AntiCorr is the selective inline treatment, which only treats the desired and necessary areas of the component. Compared to other corrosion protection methods, this saves a lot of chemicals, logistics, time and costs, while also protecting the environment.
